Anne Heggen serves as a Senior Director, Programs for the Reaching the Last Mile Fund at the END Fund. In her role, she provides project management and knowledge management support to government NTD programs working toward the elimination of transmission of onchocerciasis and elimination of lymphatic filariasis.
Anne has 20 years of experience supporting country programs to reach NTD elimination goals. Over the last 12 years, she has contributed subject matter expertise and guidance on NTDs to countries in Africa and Asia in her roles as consultant, Senior Trachoma Advisor for the Fred Hollows Foundation, and Senior Program Advisor at the International Trachoma Initiative. She also managed behavior change and health promotion programs in Ghana and South Sudan for The Carter Center Guinea Worm Eradication and Trachoma Control Programs and as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Northern Ghana.
Anne holds a Master of Public Health specializing in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University. Outside of work, Anne enjoys trying new experiences with her partner and three children, the great outdoors, and reading.
