Alessia joined the END Fund in 2016, as an Executive Assistant. She currently serves as an Associate on the External Relations team. Prior to working with the END Fund, she researched health issues and elderly rights for the Health and Human Rights division of Human Rights Watch. In previous roles, she helped refugees resettle with the International Rescue Committee in New York City, and contributed to international exchange programs orientations with AFS Intercultural Programs in Italy.
Alessia received her MA in Liberal Studies from the CUNY Graduate Center, majoring in International Studies, and focusing on human rights and humanitarian action. For her thesis, she researched South African elderly issues, neglect, and social contribution in the context of the AIDS epidemic.
During her undergraduate at Ca’Foscari University of Venice, Italy, she studied Mandarin abroad in Beijing and Shanghai. In her free time, she keeps in contact with family in Italy and China, knits, and cooks delicious Italian meals! Alessia speaks Italian, Mandarin, and Spanish.
