Walter Bayer

Associate, Programs

Walter Bayer is an Associate on the Programs team at the END Fund, where he supports the operational management of the ARISE Fund, with a focus on data analysis, partner coordination, and reporting.  He brings over eight years of experience in international development, public health, and program operations, with a track record of advancing large-scale health interventions through evidence-based strategies and cross-sector collaboration

Prior to joining the END Fund, Walter served as a Senior Associate with Evidence Action’s Deworm the World Initiative, where he led strategic initiatives to expand school-based health programs across five countries. His work included program evaluation, treatment data analysis, and the development of multi-million-dollar donor proposals. Walter also served as the Secretariat for the Ensuring Sustainable Systems Working Group under the NTD NGO Network, contributing to best practices in sustainable financing for NTD programs. Walter’s experience spans multilateral institutions and grassroots development. He previously supported knowledge management at USAID and conducted research on gender and forced displacement for the World Bank.

Walter served in the Peace Corps in Lesotho, where he taught mathematics and life skills, managed PEPFAR-funded community health projects, and led youth empowerment workshops. He holds an M.A. in Economics and Development from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), with a specialization in Global Health Policy, and a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics & Law from Binghamton University.

Walter currently lives in Philadelphia, where he volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters and teaches Muay Thai at a local martial arts studio. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, skiing, reading, and—most recently—playing Dungeons & Dragons.
