Katina currently serves as a Program Director (maternity cover) at the END Fund. She holds an MSc in the Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and completed a dual BA in Sociology and Government from the University of Texas, Austin.
Prior to joining the END Fund, Katina worked in East Africa and Asia, supporting NTD research and program implementation, WASH and behavior change initiatives, and emergency/outbreak response projects. She has led mixed-methods research teams, conducting studies focusing on disrupting trachoma transmission in Ethiopia, as well as evaluating trachoma elimination programing in Uganda, with Sightsavers. In South Sudan, Katina served as the Trachoma Technical Advisor for The Carter Center before joining Concern Worldwide as the Emergency Response Program Manager for Ebola preparedness and COVID-19 response. In her most recent role, as NTD Program Manager with Oriole Global Health, she managed a 6-country trachoma morbidity management and disability prevention portfolio under the ASCEND Program, while also coordinating COVID-19 risk mitigation and response for 11 countries in East/Southern Africa and Asia.
