Vector Control Webinars
This three-part webinar series, hosted by Senior Technical Advisor Professor Daniel Boakye, explores the role of vector control strategies in the era of mass drug administration. In the first session, Professor Boakye provides an overview of onchocerciasis transmission, control and elimination before introducing the topic of vector control strategies. The second session consists of a deep dive into species of blackflies and breeding site surveys. The final session provides guidance for (i) program planning, the (ii) selection and application of insecticides, and (iii) monitoring and evaluation. The webinar series concludes that vector control should be viewed as a stand alone onchocerciasis elimination strategy.
