Mali had been successfully conducting NTD mass drug administration (MDA) campaigns since 2007 with funding from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and support from implementing partner, Helen Keller International (HKI). Following the coup d’état in March 2012, USAID’s funding for Mali was frozen, jeopardizing the country’s MDA. The END Fund was able to respond quickly to the emergency call for help. A consortium of visionary investors ensured that millions of people were targeted with the medicines they needed.
