Neglected tropical diseases or NTDs are diseases of neglect – they often affect communities and people that are seemingly forgotten and marginalized. With little health infrastructure and competing health necessities, communities can live with the effects of NTDs for generations before seeing any relief.
Yayne Hailu sits down with Scott McPherson, chief of party for RTI’s NTD programs in Ethiopia and a 10-year veteran in the NTD field. Scott shares a story about his time in South Sudan and how he has been inspired to keep working to see the end of these neglected diseases.
